US Medal of Honor Recipients

Introduction

The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. Generally presented to its recipient by the President of the United States of America in the name of Congress, it is often called the Congressional Medal of Honor. For more information about the Medal of Honor, visit the official MOH website, cmohs.org. Also, detailed information about Korea's Medal of Honor recipients can be found in the book, The Congressional Medal of Honor Library: Korea, the Names, the Deeds (a Dell paperback book printed in April of 1987).

KWE Honored to Interview MOH Recipient

rosser_ronald.jpgThe KWE's Lynnita Brown had the opportunity to conduct an in-person interview of Ronald Rosser in Mr. Rosser's home in Roseville, Ohio, on July 29, 2004. Initial contact with Mr. Rosser was made on behalf of the KWE by Delmar Wilken (Heavy Mortars, 2ID) of Champaign, Illinois. The trip to Ohio to conduct the interview was privately funded by KWE members Martin Markley of California and John Kronenberger of Illinois. Mr. Rosser's neighbor, Paul Mills of Roseville, Ohio, assisted Mr. Rosser in receiving drafts of the interview and memoir via the internet. Local author Joanne Boring offered her assistance, too. Mr. Rosser's interview was transformed into the only memoir of a Korean War Medal of Honor recipient posted on the Korean War Educator. See his citation and his memoir.
